There are a number of films coming up that I’m looking forward to.

The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. – Early May.

I love the books, and I just hope that this won’t disappoint. Having been blessed with a non-visual memory, it won’t spoil my enjoyment of the books too much, even if it’s awful. I’m expecting a good film, but nothing earth-shattering (no pun intended )

Serenity. – 30th September.

Serenity is the Firefly movie, by Joss Whedon, creator and director of Buffy and Angel. I haven’t actually seen the series yet, but it’s on my to watch list. And based on his previous achievements, I expect wonderful things from both the series and the film.

Rent! – No official Site as of yet. – September 2005 ish

The film adaptation of the stage musical Rent! by Jonathan Larson. I love the musical. I’ve seen it twice, I have the soundtrack, and I can probably sing most of it from heart… And that’s why I’m a bit concerned, and also very excited about this film. Firstly, they’re putting dialogue in the film, whereas the musical is entirely sung. This means they’re having to cut some of the numbers. They’re also adding to the plot in some ways – namely with a part about gay marriage. Hopefully, it won’t ruin the masterpiece that is Rent! and I’m keeping my fingers crossed. One point in its favour is that the vast majority of the cast are the same as in the original opening show on Broadway.
